Apollo Brown stammt ursprünglich aus Grand Rapids in West Michigan und ist lebt als HipHop-Produzent in Detroit.  In der Tradition von Leftfield-Beatmakern wie dem großen J Dilla und Madlib ist Brown ein Mann mit vielen Einflüssen, dessen Sound ebenso viel dem Yacht Rock von Seals & Crofts wie dem klassischen R&B zu verdanken ist. Er schöpft aus allen Ecken der Musikwelt, um Beats zu kreieren, die musikalisch ebenso interessant sind wie rhythmisch. Seine umfangreiche Diskografie umfasst Projekte mit zahlreichen Gastmusikern, Instrumentalalben und Kollaborationen mit MCs wie Big Pooh, Che‘ Noir, Guilty Simpson, Joell Ortiz, Locksmith, O.C., Philmore Greene, Planet Asia, Raheem DeVaughn, Ras Kass, Stalley, Skyzoo und vielenanderen. Er war Mitglied der HipHop-Bands The Left und Ugly Heroes.
